Eve and Joe

After a long weekend I figure today could do with two pots! Today is the the first really nice day of the spring, and while Eve and Joe studied math in the grass I, of course, drew away happily in the sunshine :) It's so good to see spring moving back and people looking classy in their sunglasses

Thumbnail Backgrounds

In our animation class we were assigned to do 12 thumbnails of backgrounds and then take one to a finish! After doing loads of film architectural research and about 40 thumbnail sketches from reference I took my 12 favorite designs and added a bit of my own style. Sorry this pencil is light, I wanted to leave these ones open for change. The top row second from the right I am taking to a finish, so that will be coming up on the blog soon!

Marker Gestures

Sorry for missing a day, I've been really busy with some fun 2D stuff which will be coming later! I've never done figure sketches before with my grayscale markers, but I love it and was really happy with the results! The willing model is Terence, an excellent friend and superb artist who will also be applying to the animation program at the end of the spring.

Donny Duck

I figure Donald's been around long enough it's about time he started thinking about retirement. And of course, who else would be better fit to become a crusty old sea salt? Yes, that is a narwhale nose cane

MVP: Imperial Guardsman Sergeant

In an effort to immortalize the fictional heroes found on the miniature wargames table, I present you the first in the MVP series.
This heroic Sergeant Guardsmen(priced at a modest 6 points)lead his ragtag outfit of hardtoothed Imperials to feats of astounding valor, cutting through a whole brood of gibbering aliens and winning a combat against them the following turn! Heart pumping with the adrenaline of being the first 10 man squad to survive a Tyranid assault this side of the 41st millenium, he fixed his bayonet and leapt at the foe, coming out on top once again! Impressive in the pure fact that he lived through the 5 turn battle to tell the tale, this beloved Sergeant was instantly promoted.
